Truck Bodies
Service, crane, dump, and platform bodies — American-built work-truck bodies since 1955.
Reading Truck has built work-truck bodies in America since 1955 and pioneered the first all-aluminum truck body in 1981. Their lineup turns a pickup or chassis-cab into a purpose-built work truck — steel and aluminum service bodies, mechanics crane bodies, dump and landscape bodies, and stake/platform haulers — engineered for corrosion resistance, security, and long service life. Quirk Auto Group spec's and installs Reading bodies on Ford, Ram, GM, and medium-duty chassis across Maine.

The Reading difference
Why a Reading truck body
A history of industry firsts
Reading built the first all-aluminum truck body in 1981 and brought the first keyless locking system to work trucks in 1995 — a track record of innovation that shaped the category.
Corrosion-resistant by design
From A40 galvannealed steel to a full-body immersion E-coat priming system (an industry first in 1988), Reading bodies are engineered to fight rust and last the life of the truck.
Security and smart hardware
Stainless rotary locks, patented hidden hinges, and the Latch-Matic keyless remote keep tools secure and the body weather-tight.
Nationwide build & service network
21 Reading Truck Centers plus a national distribution network mean bodies can be built, upfit, and serviced close to your fleet.

About Reading
Founded in 1955 as Reading Body Works and now part of J.B. Poindexter & Co., Reading Truck has spent seven decades building work-truck bodies — and setting category firsts along the way, including the first all-aluminum truck body (1981), the first full-body E-coat priming system (1988), and the first keyless work-truck locking system (1995).
Reading's truck-body lineup covers the full range of jobs: Classic II steel and aluminum service bodies for the trades, the heavy-duty RHD service body and RM-Series mechanics crane bodies for medium-duty work, Marauder dump bodies and the Landscaper SL for hauling, and stake/platform haulers for open loads. Steel bodies use galvannealed steel and E-coat for corrosion resistance; aluminum bodies cut weight for more payload and carry a 10-year warranty.
