Knapheide

Service Bodies

American-built steel and aluminum service bodies — every tool locked, organized, and ready to work.

Knapheide has built work-truck bodies in America since 1848 and is the country's largest manufacturer of service bodies. Their steel and aluminum service bodies turn a pickup or chassis-cab into an organized mobile workshop — lockable exterior compartments for every tool, a reinforced floor, and corrosion-fighting finishes built to outlast the truck. Quirk Auto Group spec's and installs Knapheide service bodies on Ford, Ram, GM, and Isuzu chassis across Maine.

The Knapheide difference

Why a Knapheide service body

Galvanneal steel, built to last

Steel bodies use two-sided A-40 galvanneal (20-gauge double-shell, with a 14-gauge heavy-duty option) under a 12-step E-coat finish — strong corrosion resistance backed by a six-year no-rust-through warranty.

Return-Flange floor

Knapheide's exclusive Return-Flange floor supports the side compartments, adds floor strength, and designs out the exposed floor-to-compartment seam where rust normally starts.

Organized, lockable storage

Lockable, weather-sealed exterior compartments with adjustable shelves rated to 250 lb keep every tool separated, secure, and easy to find on the jobsite.

Broad chassis fitment

Engineered to fit Ford, Ram, GM, and Isuzu pickups and cab-chassis in single- and dual-rear-wheel configurations, with low-profile, flip-top, and tall bodies to match the work.

About Knapheide

Founded in Quincy, Illinois in 1848 and still family-owned six generations later, Knapheide went from building farm wagons to fitting bodies on the Ford Model T — and today builds more service bodies than anyone in North America, from a 480,000-square-foot steel plant and a dedicated aluminum body facility.

A Knapheide service body replaces the pickup bed with a row of lockable, weather-sealed compartments and adjustable shelving, so plumbers, electricians, utility crews, and mechanics carry every tool organized and secure. Steel bodies use two-sided A-40 galvanneal with an E-coat finish; aluminum bodies cut hundreds of pounds for more payload — both built on the exclusive Return-Flange floor that designs out the seam where rust usually starts.
